This webinar explores the delicate link between evaluation independence and the degree of contextual knowledge, or embeddedness, that evaluators should have to provide unbiased evidence to support both development and organizational effectiveness in MDBs.
The webinar explores questions such as: Is independence always a good thing? What are the costs of independence? Is a degree of embeddedness with operations required to make evaluation recommendations more actionable? If so, what extent of embeddedness? The presentation will also argue for a broader approach to evaluation, including rethinking the end-users of evaluative evidence in MDBs. The webinar was animated by Eustace Uzor, consultant at the Independent Development Evaluation.
