Independent Development Evaluation (IDEV) is carrying out a cluster evaluation of eight African Development Bank (AfDB) transport projects approved during the period 2012-2019, with a total value of USD 803,3 million. Transport infrastructure development is one of the main priorities of the Bank. As a catalyst for its High 5s, it is at the core of the Bank’s strategy. Over the 2012-2019 period, the Bank approved 177 transport projects amounting to approximately USD 11.8 billion and representing 22% of funding for all sectors.
Independent Development Evaluation (IDEV) at the African Development Bank (AfDB or “the Bank) is undertaking an evaluation of the Bank’s strategies and programs in Angola for the period 2011 - 2020. This evaluation covers two Country Strategy Papers, namely the 2011-2015 and 2017-2020 cycles. The Bank’s program for Angola for the period under review comprises 25 operations, including two private and 23 public operations, amounting to USD 2.53 billion (UA 1.8 billion).
Independent Development Evaluation (IDEV) at the African Development Bank (AfDB or ‘Bank’) is currently conducting an evaluation of the Bank's country strategies and programs in Gabon, covering the period 2011 - 2020. The Bank's assistance during this period was guided by two Country Strategy Papers. The first covers the period 2011-2015 and aims to contribute to improving the competitiveness of factors of production, while the 2016-2020 strategy aims to contribute to the optimal utilization of the country's economic and human development potential.
The African Development Bank Group undertakes self-evaluation of its non-sovereign operations (NSOs) through the Expanded Supervision Reports (XSRs) produced by the designated Bank departments for projects that reach Early Operating Maturity. Independent Development Evaluation (IDEV) subsequently reviews the XSRs and produces an XSR Evaluation Note (XSR-EN) for each XSR, as well as a synthesis report for the period under review, in this case 2014-2019.
