The African Development Bank to host fifth APNODE Annual General Meeting

The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) will host the fifth Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the African Parliamentarians’ Network on Development Evaluation (APNODE) from 28 to 30 August 2019 in Abidjan, Cote d’ Ivoire.

Themed Shaping the Africa We Seek: The Vital Role of Parliamentarians in Evaluation Capacity Development, the AGM will, among other things, highlight efforts of African parliamentarians in their role as catalysts of change and drivers of an evaluation culture. The AGM’s agenda will, among others, cover: (i) APNODE’s Annual and Financial Report, (ii) a training and panel session focused on evaluation at the legislative level; (iii) a panel session on resource mobilization; (iv) a panel session on the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agreement; and (iv) election of a new APNODE Executive Committee.

Established in 2014, APNODE’s membership is open to current and former parliamentarians from Africa and other regions of the world, civil society and private sector organizations, research institutions, national and regional evaluation associations, and development partners. Its secretariat is hosted by Independent Development Evaluation (IDEV) at the African Development Bank.

Participation in the AGM is by invitation only. Members of parliament who wish to participate are kindly requested to contact the APNODE Secretariat (APNODE@AFDB.ORG) by 10 August 2019.
