APNODE Executive Committee Chairperson Addresses ECOWAS Parliament

Thursday, 13 December, 2018

On 12 December 2018, in Abuja, Nigeria, the Chairperson of the African Parliamentarians' Network on Development Evaluation (APNODE) Senator Roger Mbassa Ndine addressed the ECOWAS Parliament. Senator Mbassa Ndine's presentation to the Second Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Parliament, focused on sensitizing the Parliament about the Network's objectives, mission, achievements and its institutional structure. The Chairperson also used the opportunity to call upon members of the ECOWAS Parliament to join the Network, while highlighting the benefits of being a member of APNODE.

Senator Mbassa Ndine was part of a joint APNODE-CLEAR–AA/FA Mission comprised of Dr. Nedson Pophiwa, Senior Technical Specialist: Monitoring & Evaluation, Center for Learning on Evaluation and Results – Anglophone Africa (CLEAR-AA), and Mr. Boubacar AW from the Center for Learning on Evaluation and Results – Francophone Africa (CLEAR-FA).

Prior to the APNODE presentation, the Centers for Learning and Research Anglophone and Francophone Africa (CLEAR-AA/FR), also made presentations which highlighted CLEAR's Monitoring and Evaluation initiatives across Africa and at the global level, including  its organization of  workshops to Parliamentarians in various finance committees, on the interface between legislation and evidence. The Mission's presentations were well-received and subsequent discussions equally productive.

APNODE looks forward to further collaboration with the ECOWAS Parliament.
