APNODE founding member Imbassou Ouattara receives special distinction “Evaluation d’ Or”

On 3 August 2017, Honorable Imbassou Abbas Ouattara, a founding member and Executive Committee Member of the African Parliamentarian’s Network on Development Evaluation (APNODE) was awarded the special distinction in evaluation dubbed   “Evaluation d’ Or” by the Ivorian Initiative for Evaluation (2IEval). 

Hon. Imbassou Abbas Ouattara was awarded the special distinction due to his contribution in the promotion of evaluation in Cote d’Ivoire, especially in playing a key role in the insertion of evaluation in the new Ivorian constitution, under Article 93 which states that “Parliament shall pass the law and consent taxes. It controls the actions of the government and evaluates public policies”. In addition to the above, Hon. Imbassou was directly involved in the articulation of Article 117 which stipulates that “ the means of informing the parliaments in regards to governmental action should be based on oral questions, written questions, the enquiry commission and the evaluation committee”.

During the award ceremony, Hon. Imbassou thanked members of the Ivorian parliament for their effort in making the evaluation of public policies a reality in Cote d’Ivoire, 2IEVal for the recognition, APNODE the Independent Evaluation Unit (IDEV) of the African Development Bank (AFDB), which currently host the APNODE Secretariat and the support of Ivorian parliamentarians.

This 3rd edition of the Ivorian Evaluation Initiative Award was sponsored by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and hosted by 2IEval.
