Mr. Yantio is policy and development evaluation specialist. Ingénieur agronome (1990) majoring in agricultural economics, he holds a M.A. in Economic Policy Management (2001), and attended the International Program for Development Evaluation Training (IPDET) at the Carleton University (2003). Since 1994, he participated or led program evaluation related missions in 19 countries across Africa, 6 in Europe, 3 in Asia, and 3 in North America.
Mr. Yantio has provided evaluation-consulting services to major UN agencies and multilateral development institutions, and nongovernmental organizations including at grassroots. He is the founder and a former president of the Cameroon Development Evaluation Association (CaDEA), and a Board Member of the International Development Evaluation Association (IDEAS) where he chairs the Thematic Interest Group on Impact Evaluation.
Debazou is also affiliated with the American Evaluation Association (AEA) and the European Evaluation Society (EES). He is a former member of the Steering Committee of the Network of Networks on Impact Evaluation (NONIE). He led the organization of the 7th international conference of the African Evaluation Association (AfrEA) that gathered about 630 evaluation professionals on March 3-7, 2014 in Yaoundé, Cameroun.
Since April 2014, he is with the Independent Development Evaluation at the African Development Bank in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire. His interest is in bridging evaluation and policymaking, impact evaluations, and building national evaluation capacities in Africa. He currently manages the evaluation of the Bank’s strategy and programs in Senegal, the Bank’s Project Result Assessments in Senegal and Cameroon.
