Between 2008 and 2017, the operations of the African Development Bank (AfDB or the Bank) in Cabo Verde amounted to approximately UA 210 Million (USD 297 Million), including grants provided by the African Water Facility, the Climate Investment Fund, the Middle-Income Countries Trust Fund, and the Sustainable Energy Fund for Africa.
The AfDB Independent Development Evaluation (IDEV) conducted an evaluation synthesis of Lines of Credit (LOCs) in response to a request of the Board for an independent review of the effectiveness of the Bank’s LOCs.
The objectives of the synthesis were to: (i) Identify good practices from the experience of the AfDB and peer institutions on the achievement of LOCs development objectives, and (ii) Draw lessons that could inform design, implementation and use of future LOCs.

In order to inform The African Development Bank’s (AfDB) future strategy in Malawi, the Independent Development Evaluation (IDEV) has carried out an evaluation of the Country Strategy and Program of the Bank, covering the period 2005-2016. In that timeframe, the AfDB financed 46 projects across several sectors in Malawi, namely, agriculture, environment, governance, public finance, budget support and private sector development, power, health, education, water and sanitation, and transport, for a total amount of USD 576 Million.
