Mr. Benjamin CAMARA - Consultant

Benjamin Camara is an economist and statistician engineer who graduated from the National School of Statistics and Applied Economics of Abidjan (ENSEA).

Before joining IDEV, he worked in the areas of strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation, economic and sectoral studies, production and information analysis. This experience results from nearly five years working in Guinea with the African Development Bank’s Country Office, at the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Ministry in charge of Planning. He also worked as a temporary teacher at the Mahatma Ghandi University in Conakry from 2014 to 2018.

At the AfDB’s Country Office in Guinea, he worked as a consultant in charge of economic and social studies elaborating the Guinea Country Report of the African Economic Outlook (2018), the Country Strategy Paper (CSP) for 2018-2022, the Completion Report of the Country Strategy Paper (CSP) for 2012-2016/2017 as well as various other reports (mainly focused on national macroeconomic and financial monitoring).

He was also seconded as an AfDB consultant to support the Ministry in charge of Planning where he: (i) elaborated the development and monitoring & evaluation of the implementation of National Sustainable Development Strategies and Plans (PNDES 2016-2020, DSRP 2013-2015, Five-Year Plan 2011-2015) and (ii) monitored the national macroeconomic and financial framework.

He was also a consultant with UNDP where he elaborated  the Priority Support Program for the Sustainable Development of the N’zérékoré Region (2018-2020) and the triennial Investment Plan all developed after an extensive consultation in all six prefectures in the region. Benjamin has also worked for the National Institute of Statistics of Guinea on the national accounts for the period 2006-2011 and the beginning of the accounts for 2012.
