Ms. Racky Balde joined IDEV in January 2020 to work on its Energy Impact Evaluation and its Transport Cluster Evaluation. She has over four years of experience in both evaluation and research. Prior to joining IDEV, Ms Racky Balde has been committed to issues related to employment, decent work, and forced displacement. She was an Evaluation Intern at the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Geneva where she worked on a High-Level Evaluation of the ILO’s Decent Work Country Program (DWCP) and developed capacity building materials for the ILO’s evaluation managers.
Before that, she worked as a consultant on the evaluation of different programs of WFP including cash-based transfers as part of voucher-in kind mixed modality transfers and school meals for refugees in Kakuma, Kalobeyei and Dadaab refugee camps, Kenya. She also worked on different research projects, including the Impacts of ECOWAS Trade Reforms on Welfare and Employment in Senegal.
In addition, as a teaching assistant, she trained development professionals who enrolled in the online impact evaluation course offered by United Nations University-MERIT and led tutorials on the Econometrics course of the Master of Science in Public Policy and Human Development of Maastricht University.
Ms. Racky Balde is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree at Maastricht University in the Netherlands. She holds a Master Degree in Applied Economics and a Bachelor’s degree from Gaston Berger University in Senegal.
